A “Day in the Life” of Our Infant Classroom

Welcome to Giggly Hugs, a new friend!  Our infant program offers a snuggly environment that places a large focus on safety, comfort, and security.  We partner with you to develop a care routine that is consistent with your families’ routine.  During awake hours, babies are offered sensory discoveries, social/emotional experiences and early language opportunities. These interactions help your baby begin to understand language and skills for building relationships.  Teachers consistently track baby’s development with the use of assessments, goals and individual planning.  This way everyone in the program is supported as they progress at their own pace.

Infant parents provide: Diapers, wipes (600 unscented for shared wipe program), food with name labeled, bottles & formula/breast milk (enough for a full day), a sleep sack (no blankets, swaddles, or toys), an extra change of clothes, and a pacifier (optional).

Throughout the day, our infant friends will experience:

Daily Care

Have no doubt that from start to finish each day babies are routinely fed, changed, and snuggled so that all are being provided optimal comfort and care. In addition, every time your baby is fed, changed, laid down to nap or just waking up the happening is recorded so parents have a clear understanding of baby’s day and may ask any questions they might have.

Rest

Tiny thriving bodies and minds spend their days playing hard and so depend on rest to restore their strength and energy so that their daily experience is one promoting happiness, good health, and steady growth. Every baby rests as their body requires.

Language & Communication

To facilitate language and literacy concepts and add depth to our program, teachers bring into play basic sign language, music, and singing. In addition, babies are read to throughout their day, and nearly every action is narrated as its happening by staff to your baby. These are tools and teaching strategies which not only add sunshine and cheer to everyone’s day but also help kids to more soundly communicate, express themselves, connect, and comprehend all that they apart of each day.

Motor Skills

From tummy time to tiny fingers, our curriculum is such that involves promoting baby’s use of both large and small group muscles regularly and appropriately based on developmental milestones. We believe nearly every activity is an opportunity to strengthen and then refine their skills in this area of growth in a way which is both safe and fun.

Sensory

Infants at any stage in their development are astonishingly reactive to a wide range of stimuli and them being afforded opportunities to experience such a variety helps to develop all of their senses and provide them a real and active connection to the world around them. Infants are also able to experience our beautiful backyard for age-appropriate periods of time when weather permits them.
